Dublin tech company Ammeon sells 100% stake to German software developer intive

Ammeon Bought by German intive

Wholly Owned Irish Tech Business Sells 100% Stake to Munich Based Software Development Company

Dublin tech company Ammeon, has announced that intive, the German software developer, has acquired 100 percent of the stakes in the company - the cash terms have not been disclosed.

Based in the Heineken Tower on O'Connell Bridge, Ammeon was established 18 years ago by Joe Cunningham. The company specialises in DevOps, cloud, automation, digital transformation and agile software development. It is a solutions partner for several Fortune 500 companies.

The acquisition is expected to accelerate growth across existing geographies, enhancing both scale and breadth of design and engineering competencies with a complementary solution portfolio to generate additional business impact for both organizations.

Leveraging on intive's impressive customer list including Audi, BASF, BMW, Credit Suisse, Discovery, Disney, Esprit, Facebook, Google, ING, ViacomCBS and Vorwerk, Ammeon will extend its presence in Northern Europe, whilst the deal boosts intive’s design-led digital engineering domain expertise in Telecom, FinTech and Mobility sectors particularly in UK & Ireland, also adding extensive telecom network knowledge including Ammeon's 5G & virtualization, DevOps, Cloud and automation competencies to its portfolio.

Ammeon will continue to operate as a separate business unit in line with the intive Group structure and is now being rebranded to ‘Ammeon – an intive business’ operating out of the UK, Ireland and Romania. intive is set to leverage Romania as an additional nearshore location for the entire Group, to increase access to talent and further fuel growth of the newly combined companies.

Ammeon was a wholly Irish-owned IT company with revenue of €20m employing more than 200 technology professionals. Founded in Dublin, Ireland in 2003 by Joe Cunningham, he said; “The need for successful digital transformation is at an all-time high and at Ammeon, we accelerate this shift with agility and a focused vision for a digital future. In intive, we’ve found the same mindset and values that have been guiding us throughout our almost two-decade company history. Joining the intive Group marks a new milestone in our journey.

I’m confident that our complementary company culture and combined domain expertise will bring tangible value to our long-standing relationships with customers and new growth opportunities for our people. Together, we’re able to reach higher and grow better, not just bigger.”

Headquartered in Munich, Germany, intive’s operations include 13 development centers and 6 design studios in Germany, Poland, Ukraine and Argentina, hosting international teams of software, design and business experts through the full application lifecycle – from product conceptualization to its maintenance.

The Ammeon acquisition is in line with the intives' ambitious company growth strategy announced in 2020 and follows the achievement of the strongest quarter in the company’s history. Gurdeep Grewal, Chief Executive Officer of intive, said; "Last year has driven up demand for human-centered design and effective digital solutions and intive is experiencing unprecedented growth. We sought to find a trusted digital transformation partner with matching culture and values, who would complement our existing tech expertise and further strengthen our growth and offering in Technology, Media and Communications which is the largest and fastest-growing part of intive. Building on Ammeon’s people-centric culture, their design mindset and Northern European presence, we can boost and diversify our delivery, and strengthen our team with forward-thinking and like-minded technology experts.”
