Albany Beck to Expand in Dublin

UK Financial Services Consultancy Choose Dublin to Open EU AML / KYC Operations and Software Development Centre

Albany Beck Associate Partner, Celia Johnson, says new centre will boost capabilities.

After expanding its Anti-Money-Laundering and Know-Your-Customer services into Ireland in 2018, London-based financial services consultancy firm Albany Beck is to open an EU Operations Centre in Dublin that will create 100 new Software Development jobs over the next three years.

Employing around 170 expert consultants across London, Dublin, Manchester and New York, Albany Beck provide support across Technology, Risk, Data and Operations to global banking clients. Through their Employed Consultant Model (ECM), Albany Beck provide cost-effective access to specialist talent, enabling clients to overcome immediate workplace skill gaps and prepare for future needs.

To ensure all consultants are perfectly suited to each role, Albany Beck offer a thorough L&D and professional qualification programme, bespoke designed with each client requirement in mind.

Since setting up its business in Ireland, the company says it has won several international projects for high profile European financial services clients and is looking to accelerate its growth across the EU from Ireland, which, supported by the Irish government through IDA Ireland, it has identified as the optimum location to scale its EU business following Brexit.

Albany Beck currently employs 80 AML and KYC people here, providing regulatory and compliance advice to its EU clients. It will expand its Irish workforce to digital transformation and systems implementation, the company says the new roles in Dublin will be in in the areas of Software Engineering, Cloud-Services, Machine Learning/AI/Automation, Know Your Customer (KYC) and Transaction Management.

Adam Kelly, Albany Beck Partner & Head of EU Operations Centre, said; “Over the last couple of years our success in Ireland has been exceptional. Dublin has been the ideal location for Albany Beck and our service offering. The depth of talent in Ireland, especially in software development and financial services has been the key to our growth. As a Dubliner, I take great pleasure in seeing the city continue to thrive, especially with Albany Beck being a part of it.”

Associate Partner at Albany Beck, Celia Johnson (pictured), added; “Being a part of Albany Beck’s continued growth in my home country over the past 18 months, has been a journey of both pride and passion. Spending so much time in Ireland prior to Covid-19, I’ve watched us grow by developing new client relationships, helping them build their teams, hit regulatory commitments and deliver transformational programmes. This new centre will boost our capabilities and I can’t wait to see it in action.”

Commenting on the announcement, IDA Ireland CEO Martin Shanahan, said: “Albany Beck’s commitment to Dublin represents an endorsement of the talented workforce available here and is evidence of Dublin’s growing reputation as a great place for financial services companies seeking to access EU markets.”
